بيث كازو معناه كنز الألحان وتعتبر الألحان السريانية من أعذب وأرق أنواع الموسيقى ولقد عرف السريان مراكز ثقافية كانت بمثابة منارات للفكر السرياني أدباً ولحناً وكل الأديرة والكنائس المشهورة كانت نقطة التقاء لتراث هذه الكنيسة المجيدة ، وبعد أن غيب الزمن دور هذه المراكز في الأبرشيات أخذت المدن ومقر الأحبار ومراكز الأبرشيات هذا الدور المميز . فماردين ودير الزعفران القريب منها أصبحت مركزاً مميزاً هاماً للألحان ، ومديات ودير مار كبرئيل مثلها وهكذا الحال مع بقية التجمعات السريانية في المدن مثل ديار بكر وأطرافها والرها وتوابعها وملاطية وخربوت وما حولهما وانفردت مدرسة تكريت ومن هاجر منها إلى الموصل وأطرافها بألحانها المميزة والمختلفة في كثير من الأحيان عن ألحان المدن والمراكز الواقعة في غربي الفرات . أما في العصر الحديث فإن اكليريكية دير الزعفران ثم اكليريكية مار أفرام في (زحلة ، الموصل ، العطشانة ، دمشق ، وأخيراً في معرة صيدنايا ) هي المركز الوحيد لنقل التراث الموسيقي إلى الأجيال القادمة وتشترك معها بعض الأديرة مثل دير مار كبرئيل ودير الزعفران ودير مار مرقس واكليريكية الموصل الحديثة العهد . ويعتبر مار أفرام السرياني شمس السريان وكنارة الروح القدس هو أول من نظم الألحان الكنسية من خلال تأليفه للأغاني الروحية والميامر وهناك العديد من حذا حذوه كالقديس مار اسحق الأمدي ومار رابولا القنسريني ومار بالاي وجماعة القواقين ( صانعي الخزف ) كالشماس شمعون الفخاري المتوفي سنة 514+ ومار سويريوس الأنطاكي ومار يعقوب السروجي ومار يعقوب الرهاوي والعديد من الرهبان والنساك وآباء الكنيسة الذين كان لهم الفضل في إضافة الألحان ونقلها من القرون الأولى وهذه الألحان نستخدمها ليومنا هذا في كنائسنا العامرة . تنقسم الألحان السريانية إلى ثمانية ألحان كل واحد منه له وزنه الخاص وتتوزع هذه الألحان على مدار السنة الكنسية مقتطفات من كتاب بيث كازو بالنوطة لنيافة الحبر الجليل مار غريغوريوس يوحنا إبراهيم متروبوليت حلب وتوابعها هذه الملفات الصوتية بصوت المثلث الرحمة قداسة مار إغناطيوس يعقوب الثالث يجب أن يتوفر لديك برنامج RealPlayer كي تعمل هذه الملفات |
